Preachers repeat themselves a lot: “God loves sinners”; “We are a family”; “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever,” and so forth. Rather than cringing at the thought of repetition, we should embrace it as part of our calling. People need reminders! We forgot! But reminding needs to be done well, otherwise it sits at the table with boredom and nagging. This seminar shows how to do it well. Learn how to serve as “The Lord’s Remembrancer.”

Dr. Arthurs' passion is preaching, and he uses his wide ranging communication experience as a teacher, missionary, director, announcer, and consultant to equip others for more effective proclamation of the Word. He has an active ministry of preaching, conference speaking, and taught preaching and communication in a dozen colleges and seminaries in the U.S. and abroad. He is also a past-President of the Evangelical Homiletics Society and an active scholar, regularly presenting papers at conferences and writing articles for periodicals such as the Journal of Communication and Religion, Preaching, Leadership, and Preaching Today on-line. He has written Preaching With Variety, Devote Yourself to the Public Reading of Scripture, and Preaching as Reminding.
