Biographical Information

Dr. Peter Ho is an Associate Professor of Old Testament at the School of Theology (English) at SBC. He is an alumnus of the College (2012) and joined the faculty in 2017.

From 2021-23, he was the director of the Centre for Teaching and Learning at SBC and co-led the development of smart classrooms and the early phases of the communal learning space project.

Dr. Peter specializes in macrostructural Hebrew poetics and focuses his research on The Book of Psalms and the Book of the Twelve. His publications include?The Design of the Psalter:?A Macrostructural Analysis?(Pickwick, 2019) and?Habakkuk and Zephaniah?(Asia Bible Commentary Series, 2024).?His articles have also appeared in?Vetus Testamentum?and the?Journal for the Study of the Old Testament.?Currently, he is working on a monograph on the shaping of the Book of the Twelve and a commentary on Micah.?

Prior to his doctoral studies, Dr. Peter ministered for about three years in an English congregation. He has working experience in both the private and public sectors and has run an engineering business for seven years. He has a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (First Class) and a Master of Science (Singapore-MIT?Alliance) from the Nanyang Technological University.?

Dr. Peter is married to Wendy and they have four children. They currently worship at a Presbyterian church.
