In 2009 the School of Counselling was created to train counsellors for the Church and the wider community. We designed two tracks: Master of Arts in Counselling (MAC) and Graduate Diploma in Counselling (GDC). The MAC was duly recognized by the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) in 2010. Subsequently these two programs were also accredited by the Asia Theological Association (ATA). To date, the Lord has provided lecturers and all that is necessary to equip individuals who have been called to minister to the hurting. The onset of COVID19 has emphasized the need for listening ears and compassionate voices to journey with those who are shaken by uncertainty and tragedy.
To see our students become vessels of healing in this chaotic world with effective clinical skills and with heart is one outcome that we desire to achieve as a school. We are intentional in bringing our students into self- awareness and have them undergo their own personal therapy of at least 8 sessions if only to be careful to do no harm to anyone.
