The Production Specialist (EduTech) will support SBC’s drive to adopt a blended learning approach and produce courses on the online platform. Reporting to the Head of EduTech, the Production Specialist will assist in (1) studio/site set-up, (2) videography and production, and (3) post-production of recorded/live-streamed e-learning content at SBC.

1. Planning

• Understand the EduTech department’s objectives, processes, and production workflow
• Work with the Instructional Designer and Faculty to identify the requirements for the production process
• Plan and maintain the schedule for the production process

2. Videography, Production, Studio/Site and Equipment Set-up

• Set and maintain the AV consistency and quality for producing e-Learning content (recorded, live stream, or video conferencing tools e.g., Zoom)
• Support the design, procurement, and set-up of equipment the production studio
• Oversee technical aspects of AV recording/live streaming/Site [e.g., classroom] production of e-Learning content
• Set-up AV equipment, lightings, props, and capture studio-quality audio and video footages
• Direct the faculty/course developer onscreen and record good quality footages
• Day-to-day simple calibrating and maintaining of AV equipment

3. Post-production (video editing)

• Set and maintain the SBC’s identity and image for all produced digital content
• Ensure and maintain the quality of the produced e-Learning content
• Assemble recorded footage into a finished project that matches the course specifications
• Input music, dialogues, graphics and effects, closed captioning, other on-screen text, and reduction of noise etc.
• Manage the digital assets and project files so that they are correctly organised, labelled, and archived

4. Research and Management of Equipment and Data

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day use of the recording studios and its equipment
• Working with the IT Services department, manage and maintain the inventory of all production and post-production hardware and software.
• Working with the IT Services department, manage, protect, and maintain all produced AV files
• Working with the faculty/ID and IT Services department, coordinate file transfers to the learning management system
• Offer continuous insights to emerging EduTech best practices, content, and technologies
• Implement these best practices/tools to maximise efficiency for the production process/workflow
• Plan for and undertake yearly training and up-skilling

• Strong commitment to the mission of SBC and a passion for higher education
• Minimum with a Diploma in film, sound, and video production, or related diploma
• Demonstrable video editing ability with a strong portfolio
• At least two years of experience in production and video editing
• Proficient with editing software like Adobe Premiere, After Effects and Final Cut
• Comfortable operating over different computer platforms (mobile/PC/Mac etc.)
• Proficient in configuring and operating AV, lighting, recording, and production equipment
• Creative mind to produce interactive/engaging eLearning content
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Excellent organisational and project management skills
• Good command of Chinese and English languages and able to proof-read and incorporate Chinese/English captions correctly
• May at times be on-call or requested to work an evening or weekend shift.
