Best Wishes in the Most Special
Time of the Year

Blessed

Christmas

and a Happy New Year

EST. 1952

Dear Friends of Singapore Bible College,

In this blessed Christmas season and the approaching new year, I greet you in the precious name of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Looking back at 2024, my heart is filled with gratitude as I reflect on God’s faithfulness shown through your steadfast support of SBC’s mission. Despite facing numerous challenges, including rising living costs and a 30% decrease in donations, we continue to persevere by God’s grace.

Current Needs

SBC needs the support of individual Christians and churches to fund our operating costs; and salaries make up 70% of the total. To continue to fulfil the Great Commission to Asia and beyond, we need to raise at least $3m in donation annually as:

  • We charge minimal tuition fees as our target is to train students from low/very low income regions.
  • We also need faculty with supporting admin staff to train and disciple these students to become faithful servants of Jesus Christ and to make disciples of all nations. When they graduate and return home, they can disciple others in their home country and serve the Christian community.

Currently, SBC has 30 devoted lecturers and 50 dedicated staff members in the mission of equipping 400 students from 25 countries. SBC wants to produce fruits of quality. This requires faculty of certain quality to produce quality disciples so that they can be intellectually equipped to withstand the winds of change that seek to undermine biblical theology.

For foreign faculty, they also have basic needs for self, family, children education etc. SBC needs to provide them with decent living standards that will not put them to hunger.

Supporting the faculty are the staff who will also have to be cared for. Faculty and staff also have to model SBC defined values as the way of living for the students to emulate. With 3,600 graduates across 40 nations, SBC will continue to journey to expand its graduate impact when they return to their home countries for the saved and unsaved. Your contribution is not only to help SBC financially in its mission, but also a contribution to the kingdom of God and the Great Commission which is both valuable and eternal.

Ways to Support

We humbly invite you to prayerfully consider supporting SBC through these means:

  1. Personal Contributions
Consider regular monthly, quarterly, or yearly contributions according to your financial capacity.
  2. Church or Organisational Support
If your church or organisation feels led, we welcome annual or periodic contributions towards theological education.
  1. Referral Support
You can help to connect fellow Christians, churches, or organisations burdened
for theological education with our Advancement Department: giving@sbc.edu.sg.

May the peace and joy of Christmas fill your heart, and may the Lord abundantly bless you and your family in the new year with good health in body, mind, and spirit, bringing glory to God and benefit to others.

Together in Christ,

Rev. Dr. Clement Chia
