MDiv/MA Preparatory Year

SOTE offers a bridging programme for full-time students who intend to enter our Master of Divinity or Master of Arts programmes.

The purpose of this programme is to provide those who have polytechnic or equivalent diplomas (minimum 3 years) but not university degrees an opportunity to make up for the credit deficiencies in a way which prepares them for the graduate-level studies in our Master’s degree programmes. This bridging, preparatory course of studies is offered as a 31-credit, full-time programme.

The programme is also intended for foreign students who, in spite of possessing a bachelor’s degree, lack evidence of adequate foundation in academic preparation and/or the English language.

Students in the MPrep programme will need to attain a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 before they are admitted into any Master’s-level programme. If these minimum standards are not attained, they will not be allowed to continue in their studies at SOTE.

Learning onsite within the SBC community is most effective and fruitful. However, it is now possible to choose to complete the 1-year full-time MPrep curriculum entirely online, wherever you are. Those who opt to do this may also apply to the Immersion Experience?where they can stay and study at SBC for 1–2 weeks at the start of every semester and get to know their classmates and faculty in person.
