Master of Arts in Christian Studies

The Master of Arts in Christian Studies (MACS) is a continuation of the Graduate Diploma in Christian Studies (GDCS). Building on the credits of the GDCS, the MACS offers additional credits making a total of 60 credits.

The programme offers deeper engagement for working professionals and Christian leaders in the areas of biblical, theological, and historical foundations of the Christian faith.

The full-time MACS programme can be taken over 2 years, or on a part-time basis over 5 years. Most of the MACS courses are offered as day courses (first-year courses are also available in the evenings, offered once every 3 years).?

The majority of credits earned in this programme are transferable to the Master’s degree programmes. However, it should be noted that the MABS and MDiv programmes have original-language requirements that take at least 2 years of full-time studies besides completed coursework from a MACS degree in order to be completed.

Learning onsite within the SBC community is most effective and fruitful. However, it is now possible to choose to complete the first year of the MACS curriculum online, wherever you are, part/full-time. Those who opt to do this may apply to the Immersion Experience?where they can stay and study at SBC for 1–2 weeks at the start of every semester and get to know their classmates and faculty in person.

All students in this programme must complete the second year of the curriculum onsite.

International students studying onsite are required to be studying on a full time basis.
