Biographical Information?

Penny holds a Master of Arts in Pastoral Counselling from Singapore Bible College, graduating in 2010. With over 13 years of counselling experience, she specialises in marriage and family counselling, as well as individual mental health support. As a Registered Member and Clinical Counsellor of the Singapore Association for Counselling, Penny brings a wealth of expertise to her teaching role at SBC, where she covers modules on APA Referencing & Research Writing, Integration of Theology & Psychology, Counselling Issues, Social & Multicultural Issues, and Child & Adolescent Therapy.

Beyond academia, Penny is deeply involved in community outreach, conducting lay counselling workshops for churches and delivering talks on parenting, communication, anger and stress management. Currently pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselling and Psychological Studies at Regent University, U.S.A., Penny remains committed to advancing her knowledge and skills in the field.

As an active Executive Committee (EXCO) member of the Association for Christian Counselling (Singapore) since 2022, they co-organise events like the Christian Mental Health Conference and she serves as a main trainer for Mental Health First Contact, a program designed to equip pastors and ministry workers in mental health support.

Within her church community at Adam Road Presbyterian Church, Penny serves on the EXCO of the Mental Wellness Ministry, facilitating workshops and talks on mental health awareness. Her extensive international experience living in the U.K., U.S., and Australia positions her well to connect with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds.

Penny is happily married to Wey Lon, also an SBC alumnus with a Master of Divinity (Biblical Studies). Together, they have three adult children and a grandson, enriching their lives with love, family, and shared values.
