Do you want to renew your thinking on current issues or update your theological training?

Every semester, SOTE makes a selection of our courses available to alumni and interested individuals without requiring them to be currently enrolled in an SBC programme.

Whether you are our alumni or have not taken any of our postgraduate programme, you are welcome to register for these electives at the School of Theology English.

The Gospel in the Digital Era: Practice, Spirituality, and Theology

This course provides an introduction to the Gospel in the digital era, focusing on four subject areas: (1) social media, (2) the online church, (3) virtual reality, and (4) artificial intelligence. The course offers the foundational concepts to think about digital technology and draws on Christian, secular, Asian, and Western sources for discussion and reflection. The aim is to give students a grounding on issues in our digital world and to understand their implications to ministry and life. It uses a combination of in-class instruction and discussion, academic publications, and video clips.
