Our Faculty
Our faculty members at SBC are highly competent musicians, well-respected in their disciplines, and experienced in church and educational ministries. This team of servant leaders is passionate about their call to be disciplers, pastors, and teachers to our students, alumni, and to all whom the Lord brings to them to serve.
Our Students
You will be learning with students from over 20 countries and denominations. As you study with these skilled musicians with strong pastoral heart like yours, you will find yourself enveloped in a community of mutual support and accountability that seeks to grow spiritually, musically, pastorally, and academically.
Our Curriculum
Our unique curriculum offers a well-rounded training that integrates music studies, church music, worship, Bible, and theology courses with their application in today’s Asian context. Spiritual and character formation is also embedded in the learning experiences, so that our students can become adaptable pastor-musicians and church music educators.
Our Extracurricular Learning Experiences
Guided hands-on ministry opportunities in local churches allows you to apply what you learned in the classroom. Performance opportunities expose you to a wide range of repertoire and performance formats. Our annual Selah Retreat, seminars, and masterclasses provide more learning experiences on specialized topics.
Our Location
Singapore is a hub for Christian ministries and musical activities in Asia. This makes it a wonderful place for exposure and learning in music, arts, and ministry.
The School of Church Music Offers Four Programmes of Study:
Entrance Requirements
- At least 24 years of age
- Baptized Christian of at least four years
- Music and/or worship ministry experience of at least two years
Goals of the Programme
Designed to provide advanced training in composition for the Bachelor of [Church] Music degree holders, to equip them to be composers and arrangers, music and worship pastors as well as church music educators.
Master of Church Music in Ministry Leadership
- 2/3 Years
Entrance Requirements
- At least 24 years of age
- Baptized Christian of at least four years
- Music and/or worship ministry experience of at least two years
Goals of the Programme
Designed to provide advanced training for Bachelor of [Church] Music degree holders, music and worship ministry practitioners, worship and music pastors involved in worship, music, and spiritual leadership and equipping roles, church music educators and heads of worship and music departments of denominations.
Entrance Requirements
- At least 24 years of age
- Baptized Christian of at least four years
- Music and/or worship ministry experience of at least two years
Goals of the Programme
Designed to provide advanced training in choral conducting for Bachelor of [Church] Music degree holders, to equip them to be church conductors, music and worship pastors as well as church music educators.
Master of Ministry in Music and Worship Leadership
- 3 Years
Entrance Requirements
- At least 24 years of age
- Baptised Christian for at least four years
- Evidence of involvement and leadership in ministry
- Evidence of call to ministry and leadership
- Endorsement by church leadership or a mature Christian in the applicant’s current church/organization
Goals of the Programme
Designed to train and mentor experienced music and/or worship ministry leaders in Asian contexts for effective spiritual and musical leadership, to be effective catalysts for the greater growth of God’s church.
